We're offering four (4) grants of $1500 each to eligible schools for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Here's what you need to know to apply:
Location: Your school must be in a rural area of Manitoba. A rural school in Manitoba is generally defined as one located outside larger urban centers like Winnipeg and Brandon.
Commitment: Your school must designate a dedicated coach to oversee and manage the esports program, your school must compete in at least one season of any title in the 2025/26 school year, and you must send pictures of your esports set up with students (no faces).
Equipment: Schools will purchase Xbox X or S Series consoles and controllers.
The grant will cover the following:
-
2x Gaming Consoles: The specific console type (Xbox X or S series consoles) or combination thereof.
-
2x Controllers: At least two (2) controllers will be provided to facilitate team practice sessions.
-
2x Games (for most consoles): Two copies of a popular esports title will be included (the specific game may vary depending on the chosen console). Titles offered through MSEA seasons are typically cross-platform and free-to-play, minimizing additional game costs.
-
First-Year Registration Fees: This grant will cover your school's registration for the first year of the MSEA competition.
Applications close on October 31st, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified in early November.
